A singer who knows and sings the blues, Mary never fails to entertain with her distinct and soulful voice that has the power to create beauty out of moments of darkness.

Born in Galway 1956, Mary is a singer of substance and integrity with a voice filled with passion, intensity and emotion.

Her successful debut album ‘Tired and Emotional', a string of other hit albums and being featured on the ‘A Woman's Heart' CD series, has confirmed her status as one of the finest vocal interpreters of jazz and blues material, and has earned her both critical recognition and an ardent fan base worldwide as well as at home.

In 2000 Mary started working on the elaborate multi-media stage production that was dedicated to the life and art of Billie Holiday and followed with the staging of “Lady Sings the Blues” in Dublin and London.

The Album, “Mary Coughlan Sings Billie Holiday” is a vibrant tribute. Mary will be accompanied during her performance by the talented and life long musician James Delaney who has played with many of the greats including Van Morrison, Chuck Berry, Clannad ……… the list goes on.
